
Civic Day
This annual event, sponsored by the Club in conjunction with the
Youth Bureau and the City, gives members an opportunity to learn about
leadership positions at City Hall, including Mayor, City Manager, Commissioners,
City Council, City Clerk, City Judge, Court Clerk and Corporation Council.
Remington Leadership Program
Members 6 to 12 years old have an opportunity to participate in a
variety of positive and rewarding educational, cultural, civic and social
experiences designed to develop their leadership skills and abilities
through mentoring and support.
Members 13 to 18 with the support of volunteers and staff, use what
they learn in the program to become mentors for younger members.
Respect Leaders
Also known as Teens on the Move, members 13 to 18 years old participate
in group educational and recreational activities focusing on developing
life, social, political, entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
Cooking Classes
Volunteers and local restaurants host classes throughout the year
sharing information about basic cooking skills, nutrition, and ethnic
specialties.
Movie Nights
Members and their families are welcome to socialize and enjoy family
oriented movies every other Friday night at Respect and periodically
at Mascaro and Remington.
Game Nights
Members and their families are welcome to participate in friendly
competition as we pull out all the board games every other Friday night
at Respect and periodically at Mascaro and Remington.
Sewing and Fashion
Members can learn the art of sewing and fashion design with a focus
on developing entrepreneurial skills.
Yoga
Members have the opportunity to participate in meditation and yoga.
4H Club
Members participate in a range of activities from cooking to sewing
to games all designed to help them appreciate cultural differences.
Sporty Females
A mentorship program reaching out to girls 9 to 12 years old as they
explore sports activities and teambuilding.
Parent Involvement
Parents and guardians are always encouraged to be part of their child’s
membership experience at the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle. Whether
joining in for Movie or Game nights, cheering at a sports event, chaperoning
for an activity, helping their child choose a book to read for the Book
a Month Club or sharing what subject areas their child needs home work
help with - parents can and do make a positive difference.
New Programs and Partnerships
New programs, activities and events are offered at various times
throughout the year through partnerships with other organizations and
sponsorships by community stakeholders and business leaders.
