My name is Kathleen Pierre, and I am the Boys & Girls Club Unit Director at Davis Elementary School. I have been a native of New Rochelle my entire life. I studied Psychology at Iona College and am now a full time mother of one. As a child I was a member of an after school club, so I understand first hand how important after school programs are for the youth of today. I have over 10 years of experience working in childcare, starting at the YMCA, then for the New Rochelle School District, and currently for the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle.
As my sixth year as Unit Director at Davis I have had the opportunity to challenge myself both mentally and physically. Learning how to better promote a fun filled safe environment for children to learn and grow and become well-rounded/productive adults of the future; as well as building that supportive relationship between the youth and adults so that members gain a sense of belonging. After school programs are where children are able to expand their imagination/creativity, increase academic performance, and promote physical and mental well-being. Each and every year we look forward to working with our members by providing them with a high quality club experience and making a positive impact towards their future.
We offer a range of programs for our members which includes: Arts & Crafts, Performing Arts, STEM, Healthy Habits, Smart Girls, Smart kids, Triple Play, Intermediate basketball/flag football, and Community Outreach (Torch Club).
