Melissa Caruso grew up in New Rochelle and attended the public school system. She has always been passionate about working with children. She grew up learning core values and has helped her get through her life. She has been an elementary school teacher for 7 years. She is certified in regular and special education. She received her bachelor's in communication disorders from LIU and her masters in general and special education at Mercy College.
Melissa has worked with students from first to fifth grade. Having worked with all ages she will be able to provide the appropriate differentiation techniques to all activities and program not only for each grade but for each child. As a teacher she is able to provide the students with the necessary tools they need to grow. This is Melissa's first year with the Boys and Girls Club and is very excited to share her knowledge and grow into this position. She hopes to enhance the program as the director to become an educational and fun experience for the students. She will grow this program to be the best it can be. Collaboration is key to success, collaboration with teachers, parents and students. It is a group effort.
